1. Washington State Business License Renewal

  • Who: All businesses with a state-issued license

  • Due: Annually, based on original registration date

  • Where: WA Department of Revenue

  • Fee: Varies


2. Washington State Annual Report

  • Who: LLCs, Corporations, Nonprofits

  • Due: Annually, during your business's anniversary month

  • Where: WA Secretary of State

  • Fee: $60


3. Business & Occupation (B&O) Tax Return

  • Who: All Washington businesses

  • Due: Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually

  • Where: WA DOR My DOR Portal

  • Due Dates:

    • Monthly: 25th of the following month

    • Quarterly: Last day of the month following the quarter end

    • Annually: April 15th of the following year


4. Sales Tax Returns

  • Who: Businesses that collect sales tax

  • Due: Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually

  • Where: WA DOR My DOR Portal

  • Due Dates: Same as B&O


5. Employment Security Department (ESD) Wage Reports

  • Who: Employers with employees

  • Due: Quarterly

  • Where: WA ESD

  • Due Dates:

    • Q1: April 30

    • Q2: July 31

    • Q3: October 31

    • Q4: January 31


6. Labor & Industries (L&I) Quarterly Reports

  • Who: Employers with employees

  • Due: Quarterly

  • Where: WA Labor & Industries

  • Due Dates:

    • Q1: April 30

    • Q2: July 31

    • Q3: October 31

    • Q4: January 31


7. Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML) Reporting

  • Who: Employers with W-2 employees

  • Due: Quarterly

  • Where: WA Paid Leave Portal

  • What: Wages, hours worked, and premiums

  • Due Dates:

    • Q1: April 30

    • Q2: July 31

    • Q3: October 31

    • Q4: January 31


8. WA Cares Fund Reporting

  • Who: Employers with W-2 employees

  • Due: Quarterly

  • Where: WA Cares Fund Portal

  • What: Employee wages and contributions

  • Due Dates: Same schedule as PFML and ESD (quarterly)


9. Tangible Personal Property Listing

  • Who: Businesses that own personal property used in business (e.g., furniture, equipment)

  • Due: Annually by April 30

  • Where: Your county assessor’s office

  • Note: Required even if you lease or use personal property that belongs to others


10. Unclaimed Property Reporting

  • Who: Businesses that hold unclaimed funds (e.g., uncashed checks, refunds)

  • Due: Annually by October 31

  • Where: WA Department of Revenue – Unclaimed Property Division

  • Tip: Review outstanding checks and credits regularly


11. Registered Agent Information

  • Who: LLCs and Corporations

  • Due: Immediately upon any change

  • Where: WA Secretary of State
